Reiter Engineering reveals the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT2
Reiter Engineering the German tuning specialist focusing on Lamborghini models and turning them into awe-inspiring machines, such as the Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT model and the Gallardo GT3 Strada, is now working on a new creation in the Gallardo GT2.
This car will be employed at the impending Le Mans series, although it won’t make it to the first round at Barcelona. Rather, it will be making its introduction at Spa on the 10th of May, where it will compete in the GT2 category. Lack of testing for the racecar is the reason for the delay and Reiter wanted to come up with a comprehensive understanding of any nuances before subjecting it to a 1,000km (621 mi) competition. Although this racecar comes with the Gallardo name, it is quite distinct from the production model since it will be a RWD. Power output for this model though will not be too different from the production model, since GT2 regulations require that the power of the racecars must fall between 450hp and 500hp. So, Reiter will reduce the weight of the car as close to the 1,125kg minimum as possible to enhance speed and stopping, especially with the consideration that the GT2 class does not permit the use of carbon ceramic brakes. With all of these, the Reiter Gallardo GT2 would truly be an interesting addition to the Le Mans series. Photo gallery after the jump!
