Renault expecting no recovery until 2011

Carlos Ghosn, the CEO of Renault, continues to be gloomy over the state of the global car industry. Aside from expecting 2010 to be as difficult as 2009, he thinks that Europe will suffer more than other markets due to the withdrawal of government scrappage incentive schemes. He hopes that a gradual withdrawal of those schemes would be done instead.
He added that he expects no immediate recovery. He mentioned that US, China, and India markets would see recovery at the start of 2010; while Europe and Japan will be struggling to see growth before 2011. Ghosn also said Renault could have expected a bit better with its first half sales for 2009. In June, the Renault group sold about 180,000 vehicles globally.
