CEO Carlos Ghosn of Renault Nissan predicts a record year for the automotive industry in 2012. Ghosn forecasted a decline in sales in the European market, but it will be offset by strong sales for the rest of the world. He said his forecast is also valid for Nissan and Renault. "The rest of the markets outside Europe will be growing," Ghosn said, adding that growth will be posted in China, United States and "most of the developing countries." Ghosn uttered the same forecast in November 2011, saying the 2012 will be a record year for the car industry unless a Lehman-style economic crisis happens. Ghosn told the Automotive News World Congress earlier this month that he foresees another record for Renault-Nissan in 2012, after selling a global record 8.03 million vehicles in 2011.
