Renntech 777 McLaren SLR

It was just a coincidence that AMG made a contradicting announcement in the same month just one year apart. If it can be recalled, last year AMG said that the horsepower war was not yet over, but this year they say that it is. The reason for this is that RENNTECH has something more extreme for their 20th anniversary. RENNTECH was founded in 1989 and since then the company has established itself as one of the primary tuning firms in the world and an expert in the performance tuning of Mercedes-Benz cars. The company will celebrate their anniversary by releasing a small number of extreme, limited version of performance cars starting with a brand new car concept that utilizes the high-tech carbon fiber chassis of the SLR McLaren the RENNTECH 777 that comes with 777 hp.

The 777 is a street-legal track car, something close to what fans have been initially expecting from the SLR, which is more of a successor to the McLaren F1. The McLaren bodywork with its aerodynamic pack were heavily modified with the utilization of identical technology it used to develop the GLK Hybrid Rally Racer for Mercedes which comes with the high-tech CFD software to generate more downforce. In spite of its large wing, skirts, and splitters, the 777 hp machine attains more than 210mph without a sweat. Equipped with a heavily modified 5.5-liter supercharge powerplant plus internal and external uprates and a considerably uprated cooling system, bodyweight is not the only factor for the high performance of the 777.

The 777's suspension and driveline are likewise extensively modified with overall reinforcement of the transmission channeling potency to RENNTECH's ground-breaking limited-slip differential which was built by the Japanese OS Giken. This revolutionary differential permits a complete locking between the drive wheels for unparalleled mid-corner grip. The wheels, which are extremely light and center-locking are clothed with Nitto NT-05 ultra high performance rubber. The first model is currently being built and will be ready by spring this year. The company intends to produce 20 units of varying extreme vehicles as part of their 20 years in the industry. Pricing is available at RENNTECH.
