2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI

Audi recently gave more details about its subcompact 2011 A1, which will likely make its world auto show debut at Geneva. In a statement, Stefan Sielaff, head of design at Audi AG, said that the A1 design is inspired by two models -- the Audi Metroproject Quattro concept and the Audi A1 Sportback study. Sielaff also said that there would be many ways to customize the production A1, especially with the interior. Audi said that there's something about A1's grille that should surprise potential buyers. Sielaff hints that the surprise may be with the corners and the width of the grille. The A1 has a coupelike silhouette and is characterized by a wide stance, with a short front overhang and pronounced wheelwells. The car is said to be targeted at younger buyers. But if a report from Inside Line is true, then a huge number of fans will be dismayed since no sales are planned for the US.
