Report: 2011 Ford Mustang GT to receive the 5.0 fender badge

Back in late 70s, the number 5.0 was introduced as a fender badge of the 1979 Ford Mustang to refer to the 5.0-liter 302 cu. in. small block Ford V8 powerplant. Between 1979 and 1993 the powerplant saw a host of improvements but the black trimmed and two-chromed 5.0 with a red center dot designation on the fender remained. There are reports now emerging saying that the fender badge will be coming back in the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. It is not known however whether the 5.0 fender badge will return as in the original or an updated version will be used.
