Dodge Ram is clearly following Chrysler Group's lead of updating the features but maintaining the price or going lower. Dodge Ram has released the prices of the redesigned 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickups that will arrive at dealerships in early November. These pickups are actually the only redesigned 2010 models from the recently bankrupt Chrysler Group.

$28,165 (including shipping), the base model 2010 Ram 2500 regular cab 4x2 with a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is $1,970 cheaper than the 2009 model it replaces. What makes this almost surreal is that the redesigned model is packed with more equipment. On the other hand, the 2010 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab Laramie powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel has a price tag of $51,595.

At a recent media event, Mark Heber, head of Dodge truck marketing, had said that the brand will be "going very aggressive" with the competition on pricing. How the pickups perform is critical since they're the first products launched under the new Dodge Ram brand for trucks and commercial vehicles. In addition, these pickups represent one of the few things that Chrysler is known for doing well, according to Karl Brauer, editor of the Edmunds.com auto Web site. He opines that since the Chrysler portfolio isn't quite strong, the aim is to give it its own identity.
