It’s not a secret anymore that Ferrari is working on a replacement for the 612 Scaglietti 2+2 coupe. What we didn’t know until today, was that the new car is going to be the first hybrid car introduced by the Italian manufacturer, using a powerful V12 engine delivering 550 hp but also an electric motor at the rear capable to deliver an extra 100 hp. The new car will use the same hybrid powertrain introduced by Ferrari at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the HY-KERS vettura laboratorio(experimental vehicle) a.k.a. Hybrid 599 GTB Fiorano . Apparently, the new hybrid powertrain will deliver a better fuel economy, improved by 35 percent. According to AutoBIld, the new car is set to make its debut next March, at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
