Report: Lotus planning to compete in the Indy Car, GT and Le Mans Racing series

Lotus F1 CarPlans are not yet concrete but already fans are excited over Lotus’ intention to compete in the Indy Car, GT and Le Mans Racing series in the 2010 season. Dany Bahar, CEO of Group Lotus plc, supports the plan as a method to raise brand awareness.

Bahar said that racing is the “perfect platform” to showcase its capabilities. He added racing is part of the company’s heritage and that the technology in its road cars is derived from racing. Bahar disclosed that aside from the three races mentioned, Lotus is also looking to participate in other series around the globe in order to demonstrate the shared technology. Lotus’ racing history is extensive. Team Lotus has won the Formula One Constructors’ title seven times, along with six Formula One World Drivers’ Championships. Team Lotus had folded in 1994.
