Report: Nissan GT-R SpecM still on its way

A variant of the Nissan GT-R -- the SpecM -- may be released as early as next year. Not many people are familiar with the M-Spec. It was part of the R34 lineup and had received plenty of compliments due to its compliant suspension and overall civility. The R34 V-Spec was clearly made for the track. On the other hand, the M-Spec was regarded to be more of a grand tourer. It boasted the best of comfort as well as an impressive performance. Kazutoshi Mizuno was the person behind the current GT-R (R35), which was the model that eventually made it to the US. The R34 M-Spec was Mizuno's pet project too. He said that it has always been in the plans to build the SpecM after the release of the SpecV. Mizuno said that he made sure that like the original SpecM, the soon-to-be-released cars will have a much more compliant ride. He said that cornering prowess will only be affected a little bit, if at all. The ride is said to be comparable with that of Aston Martin or Ferrari, making it a road car first and a track car second. While the Spec V is priced at 15,750,000 yen, the SpecM will go for 18,000,000, which makes it similarly priced to a European supercar. [via insideline]
