Report: Toyota to drop four-cylinder 4Runner for the 2011 model year

Although many people liked the idea of the four-cylinder Toyota 4Runner it appears that not so many people considered buying one as the manufacturer is preparing to kill the version due to the poor sales. The V6-powered model is already accounting over 90 percent of the 4Runner and Toyota decided to phase out the four- cylinder model. Apparently there are some reasons why people avoid this model: first of all the 2.7-liter I-4 is not quite fuel efficient comparing to the larger 4.0-liter V6 engine which deliver more hp (113) and more torque than the smaller power plant. According to EPA ratings, the difference between the two models is of 1 mpg: the V6 model delivers 19 mpg while the four-cylinder version only 20 mpg. Fair enough we'd say, because let's be honest... all of you folks will go for the V6 model, right?
