In a recent interview, Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov told Autonews that he is ready to invest up to 15 million euros in Saab, after returning as a shareholder in Dutch group Spyker. For those folks who don’t know, the Russian businessman was originally part of the deal for Spyker to buy Saab from GM, but he was kind of forced to quit the deal after he faced allegations of money laundering (denied by him eventually).

Moreover, Antonov said that his return to Saab had already been settled with General Motors and now he is in discussions with the Swedish state. "I expect the decision to be taken within a few months," he added. Furthermore, Antonov said that he could take the stake in the Dutch manufacturer Spyker via buying shares from a new issue and some existing shares.

He added that he would be very happy to have 29.9 percent. Still there is good new for Spyker, as the manufacturer needs more money. As you may know already, Spyker told us last month that its luxury sports car business will be sold to Vladimir Antonov in order to focus on Saab. Spyker wants to sell 80,000 Saabs this week, and 120,000 in 2012 after selling 31,696 cars in 2010
