2011 Volvo C70

Volvo Car Corp. said that in May 2013, it will assume full ownership and responsibility for Pininfarina Sverige AB, a joint venture it started in 2003 with Italy’s Pininfarina S.p.A. Pininfarina Sverige’s operations in Uddevalla, Sweden, will still build its sole model – the Volvo C70 convertible. According to researchers JATO Dynamics, Volvo sold 4,703 units of the C70 in 2010, down 1.7 percent from 2009. Silvio Pietro Angori, Pininfarina’s CEO said his company's future rests on engineering and design services, sustainable mobility and brand-value enhancement. He said in a statement that his company is “now approaching [its] future on a different basis.”, according to Autonews.
