In order to support the manufacture of the its new model, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the British manufacturer intends to boost its production manpower by 50%, or about 150 new personnel.

This will result in nearly 400 new jobs in two years, raising the total number of workers to 900 at the company’s facilities at Goodwood, West Sussex. Most of the newly opened jobs have been in the area of wood, leather and paint shops together with assembly areas also. Several positions will also be offered at the firm’s headquarters at the same location. More details and photos after the jump!

These new positions will be filled in within the next several months and the carmaker is expecting to bring in a good number of highly skilled auto industry workers found in the UK. Rolls-Royce sees this as a good thing considering the difficult times they and the auto industry in general are currently in. The addition of a new workforce came because of the attention that the new model, the Ghost, is enjoying in the international arena.

The new positions created at Rolls-Royce will ensure that the model gets to the market soon enough. Although the Ghost will be built in its own dedicated assembly line it will, however, share paint, wood and leather workshops with the Phantom series. In the past couple of years Rolls-Royce has been expanding all areas of its manufacturing facility in preparation for the coming of the Ghost. The production of the Ghost model will begin this autumn and as early as next year customers will be receiving their cars.
