Rolls-Royce Ghost to receive new air suspension system

Rolls-Royce 200EX Concept

Phantom models of Rolls-Royce all come with four-corner air suspension system, a feature that will be followed by the latest Rolls-Royce Ghost along with multi-link aluminum axles for both the front and the rear. This intelligent suspension system comes with air springs that function in harmony with the Variable Damping Control system to guarantee the tires maintain their grip on the road.

The carmaker claims that the air suspension has the ability to detect the slightest movement inside the cabin such as an occupant moving from one part of the seat to another, and automatically and instantly counterbalances such weight movements. Sensors around the car feed information into an on-board computer, while the dampers continuously make individual load computations every 2.5 milliseconds. Furthermore, the system also comes with a lift and kneel function that can raise or lower the car by 25mm for the purpose of helping with access or raise the car over rough surfaces.
