Rolls-Royce's Year of the Dragon Phantom luxury model turned out to be a best-seller in China after selling out the unit in just a few months after the company started taking in orders for it. The special model, with starting price of 7.4 million Yuan ($1.2 million), was an instant hit as it appealed to Chinese customers who want highly bespoke cars with features like drink cabinets and "marvelous embroidery work," Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes said. The special Phantom model is painted red, the color of luck, Mueller-Oetvoes added. Due to high demand, Rolls-Royce will add dealerships in mainland China’s second-tier cities. The company currently has 14 dealers in Greater China, including the usual market Hong Kong. [source: BusinessWeek]
