Nine different teams presented their outstanding proposals, all of which were considered carefully. After much deliberation by the Jaguar Advance Design team, the team comprised of Gallimore and Miller emerged victorious. The pair remarked that since Jaguar has a long history of ground-breaking design, they knew that they needed to create “something truly special” to gain the attention of Jaguar Advanced Design Director Julian Thomson.

They said that started the project by looking at the way “the light falls within the space at Clerkenwell.” The duo remarked that they though on how their form could “accentuate this light” and convey volume through the use of materials and their knowledge of how the materials react with one another. Jaguar is the primary sponsor of Clerkenwell Design Week.

On the other hand, the General Motors Foundation is giving $50,000 while Chevrolet is donating a 2013 Silverado to help with relief efforts for the victims of the tornado in Oklahoma. The funds and the pickup will be turned over to Forgotten Harvest, an organization that donates food to emergency food providers, and its "Help 4 Oklahoma" campaign.

Mark Reuss, president of GM North America and vice chairman of the GM Foundation, said in a statement that GM and the GM Foundation will support 'Help 4 Oklahoma' with the “full breadth of our operations." Forgotten Harvest is collecting non-perishable foods as well as hygiene and medical supplies that will be turned over to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. A GM spokeswoman said that GM dealerships in Oklahoma were not directly affected by the tornado, but there was some minor vehicle damage.

Once they click the "Get Payments" button, they authorize AutoUSA to fetch personal credit and other information for credit prequalification. Shop-By-Payment then displays monthly payment quotes based on the consumers' credit, the dealership's finance programs and available vehicle inventory.

Once matching vehicles are displayed, the service allows consumers to change search criteria from monthly payments to down payments or the "bottom line" price they want to pay. Once they click on a button with the desired monthly payment, the information is then forwarded to the dealership as a sales lead. AutoUSA assured that consumer credit scores will not be affected by the Shop-By-Payment service.

According to the Justice Department, the two Denso executives agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to fix the prices of heater control panels that regulate vehicle temperature and were sold to Toyota Motor Corp. and a US unit. Suzuki likewise agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to fix the prices of electronic control units that regulate power windows, power locks and other electrical systems.

The bargain also required each executive to pay $20,000 in fines and cooperate with the ongoing probe. Denso pleaded guilty in the conspiracy and agreed to pay $78 million in fines in 2012. The Justice Department's Antitrust Division has also bargained with Autoliv, Tokai Rika Co Ltd, TRW Deutschland Holding GmbH, Nippon Seiki Col Ltd, Fujikura Ltd, Furukawa Electric Co Ltd, Yazaki Corp and G.S. Electech.

Jim Tetreault, Ford's vice president in charge of North America manufacturing, said in a statement that the carmaker will continue to operate its North American sites at "full manned capacity" to meet consumer demand. According to Tetreault, around 75 percent of Ford’s sites are operating at a three-crew, three-shift or four-crew pattern to ensure that more products get into dealerships.

The US carmaker disclosed that 200,000 units of additional capacity will come from its assembly sites in Chicago and Flat Rock in Michigan and Kansas City in Missouri, where it has recently hired new workers, adjusted line speeds, and taken other approaches to hike output. The sites build the Ford Explorer, Ford Fusion, and Ford F-series pickups – three of the carmaker most popular nameplates. Ford posted a 19-percent jump in sales of its F series this year as well as a 25-percent surge in demand for its redesigned Fusion. Ford builds 2.8 million light vehicles in North America in 2012, and its production has grown 13 percent for the first four months of 2013.

Brawn welcomed Lowe to the team and expressed delight to begin working together with him. He remarked that Lowe has an “excellent record of success” in the Formula One sport and would be an asset to any of their “rivals in the pit lane."

Brawn added there will be major changes for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, as development progresses with the “new generation of car design and Power Unit." He noted that Lowes’ transfer to Mercedes will further strengthen the team and places it in a strong position for the future.
