Rumor: Bmw Z2 not coming!

There is a trusted source saying that there will be no BMW Z2 for at least another ten years. Although a lot of people are talking about this model it has not yet made it to the product plan and that list already includes upcoming production models for the next ten years. The Z2 could, in all probability, be under consideration but has not been signed off as of yet. The informant further revealed that talks about the Z2 do not even exist internally, and even if there are talks the car still can't make it to the time frame suggested by a lot of people.
It takes more than two years to sign-off a car, test it, set up tooling and produce it. The speculations came from the thinking that BMW needs a less expensive 4-cylinder sports car to fill the void left by the fact that the Z4 is priced $5000 above the previous model.
But this is not the case as the inside pointed out. BMW has a 1-series convertible that sells for less than $20,000. Investing in the Z2 at this critical times just don't make wise business sense. P.S. Bmw would better show some official info because this is getting more and more confusing...
