Rumor: Ferrari 458 Italia Spider coming with a folding hardtop?

According to sources from Maranello, it appears that the upcoming Ferrari 458 Italia Spider a.k.a. convertible will come with a folding hardtop! Yes, you got that right, just like the Ferrari California! The only question remains the place where the mechanism will put the hardtop, because as you may know, the California is a front-engined model while the 458 Italia has a rear-mounted engine! Regarding the engine, we will see the same 4.5-liter V8 engine capable to deliver 578 hp. With these numbers the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds while the maximum speed is in excess of 325 km/h. The new model is expected to be less faster than the coupe as the folding hardtop mechanism will make the car heavier.
