Rumor: Ferrari 458 Spider GTS in the works

Although earlier today we told you that the Ferrari 458 Italia will be recalled, we have also good news regarding this model: it will receive a convertible version dubbed 458 GTS. And there is a surprise as the new car will not feature a fabric roof like the old F430 Spider as it will receive a glass roof that flips behind the seats. This means that the 458 Spider GTS will be a coupe cabriolet. Under the hood, we expect the same engine found on the coupe version of the 458 Italia. In fact, the same system could be seen at the upcoming 500 Roadster which was secretly unveiled at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Regarding the 458 Italia range, same sources confirm the coming of a hardcore 458 Scuderia, but an exact date was not revealed. [via Auto.it]
