Rumor: Lexus LC600h will be the successor of the discontinued SC430

As you may know already, this summer Lexus discontinued the SC430 Coupe-Cabriolet and a new successor was already on the drawing board. According to the latest reports, we find out that Lexus will build a completely new car which will use the next-generation LS platform. Furthermore, the car will be powered by a refined version of the 5.0-liter hybrid system found on the current LS 600h L and will also be all-wheel drive.
This means that the new coupe from Lexus will be a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. In addition, the new car from Lexus, dubbed LC600h, will have a retractable metal roof (just like the old SC430), which will transform it from a coupe to a stylish convertible in less than 20 seconds.
Regarding the new engine, this is expected to deliver around 500 hp, enough to push the car from o to 60 mph (96 mph) in less than 5.0 seconds and to a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The bad news is that the new car is being developed in the shadows if the next-generation LS. The new Lexus LS will make its debut in 2014, which means the coupe should make its debut later.
