Rumor: Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake coming to the Paris Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz Logo

Speculation is mounting that Daimler will be bringing a Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake to the Paris Motor Show this October. It actually shouldn't come as a surprise since the Porsche Panamera had received favorable feedbacks, according to our Dutch sources. It is believed that the new CLS model will get a market release by the end of 2011 as a four-door, which could be considered to be an advance on the two-door Mercedes-Benz ConceptFASCINATION displayed in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show. The doors will be frameless, similar to the 5-Series GT. The car boasts the advantage of reduced weight and drag, meaning that it is a good option for highway drivers and chronic shoppers. If the car does get released, it will compete with other vehicles, including the Audi A7 Sportback, BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo and the Porsche Panamera. [via autointernationaal]
