Ok, we will admit that it is only a rumor… but some people say that Mercedes-Benz is preparing a diesel-powered SLS AMG, that will bow at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September. According to the source, the SLS will carry a tri-turbo diesel. If we take a little time to think, this is not as crazy as it sounds, because Bmw and Audi already offer some impressive diesel engines in its cars: Audi has the 6.0-liter V12 diesel engine in the Q7 with 500 hp, while Bmw offers the 3.0-liter tri-turbo diesel in the X5 M50d, X6 M50d models and M550d models with 381 hp. Still, diesel engines are not new to AMG as the company built the C30 AMG CDI. Although we’d like to see it, the SLS AMG CDI may remain just a nice dream for the moment. [via: moto.pl]
