The latest news from Japan's Best Car magazine, indicate that the Toyobaru a.k.a. the 216A variant of the Toyota FT-86 will not feature an AWD system. Why is that? Apparently the main reason is cost overrun and in order to avoid making the car too expensive, it seems that dropping the AWD system was the best solution. But, if Toyota intends to offer the G Sports version of the FT-86 unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon, then Subaru will also build the STI version of its sports car and this version could be offered with an AWD system, like the Impreza WRX STI. More details to be revealed!
