Saab’s future looking good and…green

Baard Eker, Koenigsegg designer and owner of 49 percent of the company, is the key person in the Saab takeover by Koenigsegg. He has been instrumental in convincing investors in Norway, his native land, and also in the US, to support the takeover of Saab. He hopes to improve the product quality of Saab. Besides designing Koenigseggs, the company also designs speedboats and up-market consumer electronics.
What is most curious in this whole exercise is that GM agrees with Eker, although he would not divulge any details of the negotiations he commended those who supported Saab through the ongoing crisis.
Eker critiqued the absence of creativity within the car industry at this stage and pointed out the speed at which established carmakers are meeting the ecological challenges of our time. With regards to Saab, Eker reiterates the importance of being green although, according to him, this is too early in the ballgame to be discussing that. [via autocar]
