Abarth and Sabelt Style Center have joined hands together to come up with the latest sports seats that were inspired by the Abarth 595 and 695. The seats come with all the traits of a standard sport seat such as lightweight about 10 kilos less than the factory model, ergonomic, comfortable and can retain the body under later and lengthwise drives. The shell of the sport seats was created from a white compound material that was formed using structural polyester resins with glass fibers, and were shaped with the used of Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) technology.
The backrest comes integrated with the headrest and is equipped with four point safety harness. There are two variants for the new seats: Frau black leather and F1 technical fabric (back Alcantara). The seats are trimmed with red thread and special Abarth signature, with the Scorpion emblem placed on the knob used for adjusting the backrest. There are currently 200 units of the Abarth 500 that sport these new seats and all of them are utilized as courtesy vehicles in Ferrari dealerships. The Ferrari 430 Scuderia provided inspiration for the color finish of the Abarth 500. Other mods on the 500 include some tweaks such as the variable back-pressure exhaust and the sat nav with Magneti Marelli-developed Telemetry function.
