Saturn’s former top executive Jill Lajdziak named president of Smart USA
Only three days after joining Smart USA, Jill Lajdziak, Saturn’s former top executive, has been named president of Smart USA. Lajdziak, had joined Smart on Jan. 1 as vice president of marketing and sales.
According to a company statement, David Schembri, who previously held the job, will take an unidentified position with the Penske Automotive Group, which distributes the Smart ForTwo microcar in the US. Penske spokesman Anthony Pordon said that Schembri will transition into retail operations at Penske Automotive Group with its dealerships. Pordon clarified that Schembri hasn’t been slotted into a position at one of the dealerships and that he will soon be part of its retail operations group in various different capacities.
