Volkswagen has released a free online slot car game over the net dubbed the GTI Project as a way to commemorate the upcoming release of the latest VW Golf GTI. The foundation of the GTI Project is a video footage that was provided by a small camera fitted on a 1:32 scale Golf GTI, which drives around a 30ft by 25ft Scalextric track. Beside providing players with the opportunity to join a prize draw to run a full-size Golf GTI for a number of months, the game puts players on a worldwide leader board, and even enables players to start their own online league.
