Schumacher receives his own island from crown prince of Dubai

Schumacher IslandThe crown prince of Dubai has given Michael Schumacher his very own island in ‘The World’ development off the shore of the UAE. This is part of a cluster of man-made islands that are being constructed to appear like the map of the world.

Valued at about $7 million, Schumacher Isle is placed in the southern hemisphere as part of the Antarctica group. Unsurprisingly, it includes its own racing circuit and moorings for a number of yachts.

Of course, this is not the only time the oil-rich UAE has given honor to the seven-time F1 world champion; a skyscraper, the Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower in Abu Dhabi, is just several years away from being finished. The close association of Schumacher with the region has something to do with Ferrari.
