Rather than serving as advisor to Ferrari's Formula One team, Michael Schumacher will now be focusing on developing its future road cars, says the Spanish publication Diario AS. Schumacher, a seven-time world champion, had signed a new three-year contract with Ferrari last September but at the time, his future F1 involvement was not mentioned. Schumacher contributed heavily to the development of the Ferrari 458 Italia and is intent on sharing his knowledge and talents in future projects.
Schumacher may have retired in 2006 but he remains to be a constant visitor of the Ferrari pit wall at grand prix.
Many fans got incredibly excited about a plan for Schumacher to come out of retirement but this didn't materialize because he isn't fit enough. Meanwhile, MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi, who has had an impressive record, will take another test in January to get a place with Ferrari.
