Scion is still interested in building a compact pickup truck

Scion iQ

Scion isn´t known for being innovative but this year, it will be introducing two new vehicles for the US market. The Toyota-owned Scion is a brand that depends on the same old models, which receive minor revisions each year. At the 2010 North American International Auto Show, Toyota's president of the North American division confirmed the new models that will be coming out however, the details are hazy.

There are rumors that one of the new Scions will be based on the iQ concept revealed some time ago. The second model will likely be a compact pickup truck based on the A-BAT concept displayed by Toyota at the 2008 NAIAS. Scion's representatives would only say that it is a possibility. Jack Hollis, Scion's General Manager, who speaks in behalf of PickupTrucks.com, said that a pickup truck sold under the Scion badge is a possible scenario for the future. No timeframe has been revealed on when the model will be available but Toyota North America's president hints that the compact pickup truck would arrive before the year ends.
