SEAT and Spain’s Department of Business and Employment have signed an agreement to train personnel who will be building the Audi Q3 at SEAT’s Martorell plant in Spain. As part of SEAT’s plan to increase its workforce to manufacture the Q3, 1,200 people will be trained and 700 workers will be hired. The project debuts this spring. The company confirmed that more trainees that have successfully completed the training program could be hired in the future.
F. Xavier Mena, the Catalan government’s Minister for Business and Employment, said that SEAT and the Volkswagen Group has proven yet again their commitment to Catalonia with the production of the Audi Q3 at Martorell. The training agreement is part of the Forma i Contracta (Train and Hire) program managed by the SOC (Catalan Employment Service).
This program will cover the full cost of the training. In exchange, the company commits to hire at least 60% of the trainees which complete the course in a maximum time of six months.
