The first to receive the Volkswagen Group's latest diesel 1.6-liter common-rail powerplant will be the Seat Ibiza. The engine, which produces 103bhp, 184lb-ft unit, will be available beginning this July in the top of the range Seat Ibiza Sport in both its 5-door and 3-door variants. The latest powerplant, which is the first common-rail powerplant to get to the Ibiza, has a carbon dioxide emission of 109g/km and 67.2 mpg combined fuel consumption.

The Ibiza will sprint from 0-62mph in around 10.5 seconds and hit a maximum speed at 117mph. The Ibiza will get to the powerplant before the VW Polo by a matter of months, and this is because the supermini will get to the UK this November. No prices have yet been revealed as of this time.
