Seat reveals versatile, five-door variant for its Mii city car

2012 Seat Mii 5-door

SEAT has introduced an addition to its Mii urban automobile range with the initial peek of an even more flexible five-door variant. The additional doors convert the super-compact SEAT unit into a unique mix of sporty design, exceptional functionality and tremendous driving fun. Moreover, the new five-door Mii is still both a pleasure to own and a pleasure to drive, which means that it has remained true to the core SEAT principles. Both the three-door and five-door versions of the Mii have top scores in terms of emissions and fuel consumption due to their efficient drivetrains and lightweight design. This is also true particularly to the newly-announced Mii Ecomotive. The Mii Ecomotive also has a brake energy recovery, a start/stop system and other measures to enhance fuel economy, allowing it to cope with only 4.1 liters of fuel per 100 km (equivalent to carbon dioxide emissions of just 96 g/km) for the 60 PS variant and 4.2 liters per 100 km (CO2 emissions of 98 g/km) for the 75 PS Mii. These remarkable statistics are true for both the three-door and five-door variants.

SEAT President James Muir stated that with its distinguishing SEAT identity, its high-quality standards and its youthful design, the five-door i in particular will take a "significant share" of the sub-compact segment. This makes the Mii "an important factor in our corporate strategy," he added. He further stated that the Mii is the beginning of the "most extensive model offensive" that SEAT has ever undertaken.

Being only 3.56 meters long, the Mii's compact format makes it the ideal companion for the current urban environment. With the optimum utilization of space, the Mii provides plenty of room for four people. It has a volume of 251 liters, showcasing one of the largest luggage compartments in its class. With the rear seat back folded, the space expands to a remarkable volume of 951 liters. The new five-door variant also provides an even greater functionality within an unchanged footprint. The back doors feature a wide opening angle, permitting a straightforward access to the rear bench. Shopping bags can be conveniently stowed behind the front seats while little kids can be fastened into their child seats without hassle. With their compact dimensions, the back doors also allow easy access even when maneuvering through tight parking spaces.
