Mopar Jeep Lower Forty
Describing the Jeep "Lower Forty" as extreme would be correct. The Mopar design team equipped the two-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with massive 40-inch x 13.5-inch tires mounted on Mopar's 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels. The tuner added aggressive wheels and tires without using a suspension lift. Mopar had aimed to achieve added ground clearance without significantly altering the car's center of gravity. Large chunks of body metal were removed to provide room for 40-inch meats. In particular, three inches are chopped from the windshield frame and a 10-degree rake is added. Custom front and rear fender flares are 1-inch wider and are located 4 inches higher than a stock Jeep Wrangler.
Completing the exterior design is a new one-piece carbon-fiber hood with a Jeep CJ-like power dome and an all-new drop-down tailgate stamped with the "Jeep" logo. The interior is very interesting as well; an all-new roll cage is seen to be integrated into the body tub and tied directly into the frame rails. The cargo floor holds the spare tire and a custom cargo rack, supplied by Poly Performance, holds extra gear. The vehicle was given a fresh coat of Red Eye No. 3 paint, a custom color developed by Mopar.
There's a lot going on in its interior, just like on the Mopar Dodge Ram Bianco and the Mopar Dodge Challenger 1320. Among other modifications, there are the color-matched center console and instrument panel and the covering of the seats with Mopar's Katzkin leather package in a two-tone scheme. Instead of a carpet, we find a durable, spray-in truck-bed liner. Rugged Mopar floor mats are also provided. Mechanical upgrades were lifted from the Mopar catalog. Powering the Jeep "Lower Forty" is an all-new 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and a Getrag 238 six-speed manual transmission. Powertrain installations were done by Burnsville Off-Road using an AEV 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 conversion kit.
