A customized Cadillac dubbed Wild Cad will be seen at the Showcase of Kustoms Motorama as well as at the upcoming SEMA Show this November. The customization process for this Cadillac took six years. The Harrington Park couple who worked on this vehicle were awarded for their efforts as it was one of two Australian creations to be named at the top 50 at the biggest custom car show in the world. Creators Mario and Catriona Colalillo hope that their one-off 1955 Coupe De Ville will take the D-elegance category. The Caddy is powered by a 7.4-litre 454 big block Chevy engine and is equipped with a Turbo 400 transmission and features a 9-inch rear end, a ‘55 Desoto grille, and fully exposed chassis rails. The Wild Cad’s interior has Thunderbird seats and a center-mounted ‘59 Chevy instrument cluster. According to bornrich.org, its special exterior paint is estimated at AU$200,000. Colalillo said that the car has plenty of features that are “out of the ordinary.” In his estimate, the couple spent thousands of hours on building the car during the six-year period but that the last couple of years had been a “bit of an obsession.” [via BornRich]
