2011 SEMA Preview: 2012 Ford Focus by The ID Agency

Article by Christian Andrei, on October 23, 2011

The ID Agency prepared a customized 2012 Ford Focus for the 2011 SEMA Show, so expect to see something special when you will attend the show in Las Vegas on November 1st. According to The ID Agency, their 2012 Focus is inspired by European and Japanese tuning styles and features a Wraptivo roof, a new front lip spoiler, new side sills, new remote controlled doors without door handles as well as a new rear bumper.

Furthermore, we find a new set of multi-spoke black wheel as well as a special green color.

Recaro prepared a new set of sport buckets while Top Stich provided a customized interior. Regarding the performances, the 2012 Ford Focus received Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and Brembo big brake kit.

The car even offers a Ford Licensed Accessory Thule bike rack with Custom Leader bike. If you want to see even more, make sure you check the Roush Performance Products Focus and the 3dCarbon 2012 Ford Focus. Also, do check our SEMA Show section!

Underpinning the new generation Ford Focus is the carmaker’s new global C-segment platform that is set to underpin at least 10 vehicles worldwide as well as account for two million production units by 2012. Thanks to this new platform, the Europe-developed Focus can be produced for sale in over 120 markets around the world with around 80 percent common parts.

Kuzak quipped that the presentations of the three core body styles for the new Ford Focus in Paris mark a new milestone in the carmaker’s global C-car strategy. He disclosed that Ford will simultaneously start production of the new Focus production in the next few months in its assembly plants in Saarlouis, Germany, and Michigan, United States – marking the start of fulfilling the vision of delivering at least 10 new vehicles derived from the same platform.

Likewise, Ford has confirmed that it has no plans to expand the next-generation Focus range with a three-door or Coupé-Cabriolet variants. This is because, as Kuzak explained, there was little space in the Focus line-up for a three-door version.

He noted that the three-model Focus range should be able to provide athletic and dynamic looks blended with everyday practicality. He added that for those seeking a vehicle with similarly dynamic looks but with more space, they could opt for the new Ford C-MAX, which is also underpinned by the same platform.

On the other hand, Ford has also unveiled the new Ford Focus ST at Paris, providing the public a glimpse of how this new performance model would look like when the carmaker launches it in 2012. This stylish Focus performance model will be powered by a Ford EcoBoost engine that provides up to 250 PS of output.
