2011 SEMA Preview: 2012 Honda Civic Coupe SI by Fox Marketing

Fox Marketing will show off its new turbo kit the new Civic Si at SEMA. It stated that it was mainly focused on showing off the reliability and performance capability of Honda's new K24Z7 power plant. The modifications have resulted to an output of more than 450hp for 100,000+ reliable miles.

Fox Marketing added a new Full-Race intercooled turbo kit, which features the BorgWarner EFR turbo that’s used in Honda's LMP1/LMP2 engine program and by 2012 Indycar teams. So that tuning will be accurate, Hondata FlashPro was chosen to control Injector Dynamic 1000cc fuel injectors and the 255lph fuel pump.

This was achieved with the use of the Chasebays Engine Harness. To generate more power and durability, the vehicle now comes with the stock plastic K24Z7 intake manifold instead of a Honda RRC intake manifold (euro Accord Type-R) from ImportDPS. With this much power, the car has to have some major traction.

That’s why it has been given a set of 10.5 inch wide Vossen wheels with Toyo Tire. The widebody kit was handbuilt around the wheel and tire set up. The civic BASF R-M was painted Ultrasonic Blue Pearl, a new variant of the classic Civic Si electron-blue-pearl. Its interior has been updated to receive Yonaka Ronin Racing Seats with factory Civic Si fabric inserts front, and rear.

Honda has announced that their new ninth-generation 2012 Civic will enter the market this spring, and it will feature the new design direction they initially showed when they introduced the Civic Si Concept coupe and Civic Concept sedan at the 2011 North American International Auto Show,

John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda stated that the Civic is recognised as a balanced car with “'just-right' packaging;” while having enjoyable handling and great fuel efficiency at a price that’s attractive even for first-time car buyers. He adds that the all-new Civic extends this legacy as it is sure to be “the best Civic yet."

Honda sees the 2012 Civic as being a true "Civic for all people." This had been the slogan for the Civic series since its first generation. The new Civic models offer the most diverse range of engines in its segment, with the objective of being the prime choices for the expanding compact vehicle customer group, as well as being a refreshment of the original Civic slogan.

The variety of Civic models include conventional gasoline engine versions in sedan and coupe types, two sporty high-performance "Si" models, a hybrid model and a natural gas alternative-fuel model. Thus, the 2012 Civic series has become noteworthy for combining fuel efficiency, low CO2 emissions and delightful driving performance in a way unique from any other vehicle.

Ninth-generation Civic will arrive to show a modernisation of the signature “one-motion” mono-form design seen on the current Civic. The 2012 models will have a stronger and more dynamic image. The body design seen on the two Civic concepts highlights lines that are refined and energetic at the same time, that are also complemented by the sleeker windscreens, broad stances and prominent profile creases.

The character lines on both models are set lower and smoothly widen rearward to the fenders, underlining the car’s forward-oriented dynamic character. Surface textures on the front fender contrast with the deep-set headlamps to effect a sophisticated multidimensional appearance, thereby contributing to the car’s ultra-modern image.
