2011 SEMA Show: Kia Hole-In-One Soul is the perfect car for Barbie

Article by Christian Andrei, on November 2, 2011

Michelle Wie is the perfect inspiration for Kia’s refreshed 2012 Soul. She has been the brand’s official golf ambassador and spokesperson since early last year. She has been coming out in ads for Kia and has also been spotted behind the wheel of a Soul in northern California while she goes to her classes at Stanford University.

However, Wie is also known as an artist and her original artwork is even featured on the custom-embroidered Nike golf bags she uses for tournaments. WCC made sure that the Hole-In-One Soul is an attention-getter.

It features the drawings and characters used on Wie's golf bags on a "So Blue" and white House of Kolor custom paint scheme. The show car has been equipped with hand-painted 20-inch Niche five-spoke wheels. Wie's artwork and personal logo are embroidered into the Roadwire "Snow White" leather seats.

The exciting interior design also features pink suede inserts and a baby blue painted dash and pink suede headliner that has white diamond stitching. This unique Soul comes with artificial grass flooring and its rear cargo is a virtual driving range.

To play a round of golf at the back of this vehicle, there’s a 26-inch LED Samsung TV monitor attached to the rear hatch and a Microsoft® X-Box video game console and Kinect system. At the back of the TV, we see two of Wie's tournament-used golf bags. These actually hide a set of eight-inch Diamond Audio speakers, a subwoofer and amplifiers.

The all-new Kia Soul passenger vehicle has been unveiled to the North American audience at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show by Kia Motors America (KMA). The unveiling of the new Kia Soul – which follows the launch of the new Borrego midsize SUV – reveals Kia’s new design theme and the fact that is laden with more package and styling combo than any previous vehicle of the brand.

It is targeted towards young customers and even to those young-at-heart buyers who clamor for the liberty to personalize and emotionally link with their vehicle. Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing at KMA, remarked that the Kia Soul should appeal to customers who love individuality but don't want to settle for the next best thing.

He added that as a model that signifies KMA’s new design direction, the new Soul should be an appealing and customizable vehicle for customers seeking a car that boasts of a little more personality than other vehicles currently available on the market. Designed in Southern California, the new Kia Soul will arrive as an early 2010 model year vehicle to the C-Segment.

The Kia Soul initially made its debut as a concept vehicle at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Now, the latest model features an exterior that stays true to the original Kia Soul concept design that implies both power and strength.

With a front end marked by chrome grille flanked by large flared back headlamps, an angled window line and rounded nose, the new Kia Soul conveys a youthful energy for a trip anywhere as it looks to redefine the very concept of freedom.
