2012 SEMA Show: Icon D200 based on Dodge D200

Article by Christian Andrei, on October 30, 2012

Icon fully restored an old Dodge D200 and transformed it into the Icon D200, which is currently on display at the 2012 SEMA Show. The truck appears vintage. That’s because it is based off the 1965 Dodge D200 crew cab pickup but under its skin, everything’s new. Its foundation is a modern Dodge 3500 chassis. It features a 4.5-inch Baja 1000 Chase lift kit that has Fox shocks.

The retro pickup is powered by a modified 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six, which delivers an amazingly huge 975 lb-ft of torque. The other upgrades are a Banks Brake exhaust system, Six-Gun Diesel Tuner, Monster Ram intake manifold, and Banks Monster Diesel dual exhaust. The white Icon D200 features a set of 17-inch matte-black wheels covered with BF Goodrich all-terrain 37-inch tires.

The interior uses “American Indian Reservation bison leather.” It also gets a custom audio system. Its exterior gets icon-designed touches such as custom tailgate latches, mirrors, and other trim elements, which were made with the assistance of Loner Industries. Even if the D200 is only intended to be a one-off SEMA product for now, it’s possible that Icon will one day be available beside the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, Jeep CJ, and Ford Bronco replicas.
