Volkswagen brought at the 2013 SEMA Show a 400 hp Jetta. Apparently, the Vw Jetta uses the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine but FMS Automotive crew tapped the APR for their Stage 3+ Turbo Kit and obtained an impressive 425 hp. In order to manage that amount of power, FMS Automotive equipped the engine with APR rods, wristpins, and performance pistons.
Moreover, installed an APR carbon fiber cold air intake system with intercooler. What’s more important is that the Jetta still uses 93 octane pump fuel, despite the power increase. Handling was improved too thanks to an H&R Street coil-over suspension system coupled with H&R Sport anti-roll bars, while the silver 19-inch TSW Jerez wheels with chrome lips and wrapped in Nitto NT-05 Z-rated tires improve the grip.
A new Brembo braking kit was installed and uses a set of performance four-piston calipers and cross-drilled rotors. Regarding the design, the vehicle uses a Golf R front fascia with a custom front splitter and a Jetta Hybrid grille. All the four fenders were widened by approximately two inches, while the GLI rear bumper accommodates a dual-exit exhaust with oval tips. FMS Automotive added custom Golf R side skirts too.
To round out the exterior upgrades, the performance Jetta features matte-finished Candy White premium Axalta Coatings paint. Inside, the performance Jetta features black and beige Recaro Sportster CS seats, as well as reupholstered rear seats, door trim, steering wheel, handbrake, and gear shifter.
The interior also includes a full RNS 315 navigation system with rearview camera, custom sound box and digital sound processer, and aesthetic pieces such as aluminum pedal caps and door sills. [source: Volkswagen]
