The Jeep Wrangler was named the ‘Hottest 4x4 SUV’ at the SEMA trade show in Las Vegas for the third year in a row. The award was presented by SEMA president and CEO Chris Kersting to Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, and Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design, in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Kersting said that the SEMA Award aids in directing customers toward the most popular and most accessory friendly vehicles available in the market. The winners of the SEMA Award are based on the models that are shown in the booths of the exhibitors. Every booth vehicle stands for a “vote” and awards are given to the most prominent models in every category.
Gorlier said that Jeep Wrangler is considered an icon and one of its most customized vehicles. He added that Mopar offers over 300 performance parts and accessories for the vehicle.
He added that more components will be offered with the creation of the Mopar off-road division that will produce new Jeep Performance Parts. Jeep Performance Parts is a new collection of high-end, hard-core Jeep parts, such as axles, lift kits, bumpers, winches, skid plates and suspension components.
Off-road performance is improved by these components that offer factory-engineered solutions. Mopar has recently announced that its new off-road division will offer a Mopar 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine conversion kit and a new 5.7-liter HEMI conversion kit, which covers 2007 through 2011 model-year Jeep Wranglers.
