Toyota Yaris Club Concept by Five Axis

Article by Christian Andrei, on August 26, 2008

After the Lexus GS460 and the Toyota Venza AS V, Five Axis brought another vehicle at the SEMA Show: the Toyota Yaris Club Concept, a tribute to the Toyota 7 that challenged the Group 7 category of Can-Am racing back in 1960s.

As you can see the car has been seriously customized as it follows: the roof was totally removed and the windshield lowered, the interior was removed too as well as the passenger seat, a tonneau (a bed cover for a pickup truck) was added as well as a driver headrest.

Also a new body kit was installed consisting in a front and rear Toyota JDM Vitz RS bumpers, a rear taillight and fog light as well as a Toyota Vitz front bumper cover.

Under the hood the vehicle received a TRD/TTE Supercharger with cold air intake boosting the engine from 106 hp to 166 hp, a DC Sports tuner header and a TRD radiator and oil cap. For a better sound of the engine a new Greedy TIC exhaust was added.

The kit is completed by the 17 inch FIVE:AD S6:F Wheels featuring a specially Satin Gunmetal finish and hugged by the Yokohama tires.

Also the suspension was lowered by 2 inches for better stability while for stopping the car in time a new set of GReddy Mini 6 Piston brakes was added.

At the interior we have a Five Axis Design custom roll cage, a new Sparco steering wheel, gear knob and racing pedals as well as a Sparco Sprint 5 racing seat and a new upholstery by Salt Turin Upholstery.

Press Release

Five Axis Design Yaris Club

The Yaris Club project pays tribute to Toyota's racing heritage harkening back to the late '60s when Toyota challenged for the Group 7 category of Can-Am racing with the Toyota 7.

The Yaris Club is a stripped-down, no-nonsense car with no extras – only what is needed to perform. The roof has been removed and the windshield lowered. With the interior removed, a tonneau was fabricated, turning the Yaris into a single seater with a fairing that doubles as a driver headrest.

A supercharger, exhaust headers and a free-flowing exhaust were added for performance to back up the good looks. The suspension was lowered by two inches with front and rear coil-over shocks and larger brakes added.

The Yaris Club was developed by Five Axis in Huntington Beach, Calif.
