Shanghai Motor Show: Peugeot RD Concept

Today, at the Shanghai Motor Show, a life-like model of the winning entry from the Peugeot Design Competition was unveiled. The Peugeot RD concept, the idea of Columbian Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar, intends to merge the thrill of a three-wheeled scooter with the excitement of a saloon. Powered by an electric unit located behind the cabin and in front of the rear wheels, the car offers the driver panoramic views through an open-sided cabin with a glass roof.
The car is hinged in the middle to aid its grip in the road. The fifth annual context challenged participants to think of the Peugeot in the future global megalopolis. Participants have to design a Peugeot that will be utilized in the center of great cities of the future. There were in excess of 2500 designs submitted for evaluation and ten finalists were chosen last August via an internet poll.
