It has been reported recently that Tesla Motors is going to provide Mercedes-Benz with 1,000 Electric Vehicle battery packs with matching chargers to be installed in Smart EVs as part of the joint venture between EV maker Daimler AG, Smart parent company, and Mercedes-Benz Group. This business relationship was confirmed publicly by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. Tesla received a $40 million loan from investors which, together with the pre-orders of the Smart car, should be sufficient to help its balance sheet pick up.
