2011 Dodge Challenger Facelift

It's been two years since the new Dodge Challenger made its debut on the market and it appears that Chrysler is currently working on a small facelift for the popular muscle car. As you can see from the photos, the facelift is minor and includes a new front air intake, which has the same shape as the current one but it is turned upside down.

The interior is also expected to receive minor changes but the biggest change will be seen under the hood were it appears that we will see a new engine for the flagship SRT-8 version.

According to sources, the new model will receive a bigger 6.4-liter V8 featuring cylinder deactivation and capable to deliver around 480 hp. Also, the Pentastar V6 engines will generate around 290 hp.

The bad news for the SRT-8 model is that it will keep the same traditional hydraulic steering pump, although the other Challenger models will receive electric steering. Further improvements will be the new door handles similar to those on the Charger, a wagon-style Dodge Magnum switch to pop the trunk open as well as the new Dodge logo as the Ram emblem will be removed on the new model. If you want to know the price of the new car will be a little higher comparing it to the current model, but you can go here and see for yourself! [photos via moparts via jonsibal]
