We've already seen the Lexus LF-A Supercar but these are the best images yet. Beginning October, the Lexus LF-A supercar priced at around $411,000 will go on sale. Also in October, the production version of the Lexus LF-A will be launched at the Tokyo Motor Show. Within the next two or three years, only 500 units will be produced. Meanwhile, 20 cars are intended for the UK, starting in early 2010. There's a cool treat too if you're one of the buyers.

One of Toyota's hand-picked driving superstars will introduce your car to you at a private circuit in Spain. A 5.0-litre V10 engine will be fitted the car, allowing it to rev to an extraordinary 9,000rpm. Lexus engineers claim that the unit will be able to produce around 550bhp and have a power to weight ratio 366.6bhp per ton performance that should be up with a Ferrari 599 GTB, the car's main rival.

Stopping power is expected to come from carbon ceramic rotors sitting behind 20-inch wheels. Suspension is by double wishbones and coil-over dampers at the front with a multi-link arrangement and coil-over dampers at the back. Outer body skin will be made from aluminum while the chassis-tub is made from carbon composite. This gives the Lexus LF-A with one of the stiffest shells in production car history. [via autocar]
