Finding the perfect Christmas gift for the motoring enthusiast is made easier with the availability of Spyker’s limited edition timepiece collection. The Spyker-branded chronographs were introduced at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans and were designed and engineered by renowned watch and luxury goods expert, Thierry Chaunu of Expression D’Artistes International S.A. A limited run of 250 units is on hand for those in solid 18K grey or rose gold finishes while 1,000 units are offered for the polished steel finish and another 1,000 for those with matt black titanium finishes. The quilted leather bracelets are hand-stitched in France using Royal Dutch Hulshof leather, which is what Spyker uses for its supercar interiors.
These bracelets are offered in Dutch Spyker Orange, Black Anthracite or Blanc de Blanc white. This timepiece boasts meticulous and precise detailing. Its bezel bears Spyker’s timeless Latin motto: NULLA TENACI INVIA EST VIA – which in English, means “For the tenacious no road is impassable.”In addition, the crown “replicates the Dutch brand’s wire-spoke and propeller bonnet badge.” The push-buttons are inspired from the Spyker exhaust pipes.
Meanwhile, the steel “bouchonné” dial had been copied from the turned aluminum finish of the luxury supercar’s dashboard. The dial has gauges that indicate the hours, minutes, seconds, and it has a 42-hour power reserve. In addition, the Valjoux caliber 7750 automatic mechanical movement is equipped with a rotor that takes inspiration from the design of the Spyker C8 Aileron’s Rotorblade wheels. These watches are water resistant for up to 100 meters and are individually numbered. To purchase one, you have to be prepared to pay up from US$9,750 / €7,500 to US$30,500 / €23,500.
