Spyker Cars NV is expected to be able to submit its final offer for General Motors Co.'s Saab unit before the Jan. 7 deadline, according to CEO Victor Muller. The Dutch luxury car maker is revising its bid for the third time to be able to comply with all of GM's requirements. Muller told Reuters that the carmaker has time to prepare a final offer and that nothing has been rejected. Muller declined to provide further details. Last week, Saab said that GM extended the Dec. 31 deadline to accept bids for the brand. Although Saab admitted to speaking with several potential bidders, no names were given except for Spyker. Paul Akerlund, union representative at Saab, said GM had given until Thursday for bids and is set to proceed with its wind-down process. [via autonews]
