Renderings of SsangYong’s e-XIV electric car concept came out several days before it makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month. The B-segment crossover concept makes use of a range-extender drivetrain, merging a small petrol engine with batteries and electric motor. Solar cell panels are incorporated in the glass roof of the concept. They will probably be used to offer extra enegy for interior ystems instead of its drivetrain. The new design study is the latest version of SsangYong’s XIV series of concepts and now is presented this year as the XIV-2 concept at the Geneva motor show. The meaning of e-XIV name stands for Electric Exciting user-Interface Vehicle. If it does enter production, it will stay blow the Korando SUVin the company’s line-up.Full details of the car will be released at the Paris show at the end of the month.
